A flash diffuser made out of a piece of black and a piece of white foam. Meant to wrap sideways on a swivel-head flash unit. This diffuser can be adjusted to vary the amount of light bounced off the ceiling, and can even bounce off the ceiling when the camera is in portrait orientation.
This diffuser sits sideways on a swivel-head flash unit. Tilt the head and the flash head stays about the camera in portrait orientation.
Adjust the angle of the flash bounce by tilting the head forward or back.
If the diffuser is about 6 inches tall, all of the light thrown upward will be bounced forward when positioned at a 45 degree angle
Creates a larger light source that is the same size whether vertical or horizontal.
Because the unit wraps around the flash head, little light is lost to the side of the flash. This maximizes the amount of light directed towards the subject.
The foam flash lies flat for easy storage and can be used to set your camera white balance.
7.5 inches wide by 8-9 inches tall, this version creates a bowl effect in the diffuser. The amount of bounce is adjusted by moving the top section of the unit and adjusting with velcro.
This unit has worked well for me, but takes 2 hands to adjust and seems to attract the attention of other photographers.
